DDC Samba reviews HADP & JKCIP progress, 389 beneficiaries approved

Samba, April 2, 2026-District Development Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the implementation of key agricultural initiatives, including the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme and the Jammu & Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement Project (JKCIP).

During the meeting, a total of 389 beneficiaries were approved, with 342 cases cleared under HADP and 47 under JKCIP, marking a significant push towards strengthening the agricultural sector in the district. The approvals are expected to provide direct support to farmers and agri-entrepreneurs through modern practices, financial assistance, and capacity-building measures.

The DDC emphasised the need for timely and efficient implementation of both schemes to ensure that benefits reach eligible farmers without delay. She also directed officials to intensify farmer outreach programmes, ensuring that maximum awareness is created at the grassroots level about various government initiatives.

Highlighting the importance of diversification, Ayushi Sudan called for focused efforts to strengthen allied sectors such as horticulture, livestock, dairy, and fisheries. She stressed that integrated development of these sectors is crucial for enhancing farmers’ income and achieving long-term sustainability in agriculture.

Officials were instructed to maintain transparency in beneficiary selection, ensure regular monitoring of progress, and improve coordination among departments for better execution on the ground.

The review reflects the administration’s continued commitment to accelerating agricultural growth and improving rural livelihoods in Samba district through targeted interventions under HADP and JKCIP.
