Srinagar, December 24,2025-Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of ABHA ID generation, enrolment of senior citizens under the Vay Vandana Yojana, and the implementation of tuberculosis control measures in the district.
During the meeting, the DC took a detailed review of the status of ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) ID creation across Srinagar and emphasized the need to achieve universal coverage to ensure seamless access to digital health services. He directed the concerned departments to accelerate enrolment drives, especially in underserved and vulnerable areas.
Reviewing the enrolment of senior citizens under the Vay Vandana Yojana, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of reaching out to elderly beneficiaries and ensuring that they receive the intended healthcare and social security benefits without delay. He called for improved coordination among line departments to streamline the enrolment process.
The DC also reviewed TB control and surveillance measures in the district, underlining the need for early detection, timely treatment, and effective monitoring to curb the spread of the disease. He stressed strengthening TB surveillance mechanisms and enhancing community awareness to support the national goal of TB elimination.
Emphasising universal health coverage, Akshay Labroo urged officials to focus on faster enrolment, robust monitoring, and effective implementation of health schemes. He reiterated that strengthening public health systems and digital health infrastructure remains a top priority for the district administration.
The meeting was attended by senior health officials and representatives from concerned departments, who briefed the DC on the current status and challenges related to the ongoing health initiatives.
