Srinagar, September 2 ,2026 – Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo,  chaired a meeting of senior Revenue Officers at the Conference Hall of the DC Office to review the progress on implementation of AgriStack, Farmer ID generation and the Digital Crop Survey across the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Aadil Fareed; SDM West, Irfan Bahadur; SDM East, Zubair Ahmad; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Umar Gulzar; all Tehsildars; the District Manager, CSC; and other concerned officers.

During the meeting, the DC undertook a detailed review of progress achieved under the initiatives, assessing the status of farmer enrolment, generation of Farmer IDs and the ongoing Digital Crop Survey across all tehsils of the district.

Labroo directed all concerned Revenue Officers to accord top priority to the enrolment of eligible beneficiary farmers and ensure that the process is completed in a time-bound manner. He stressed the need for coordinated efforts at the tehsil and field levels so that no eligible farmer is left out of the enrolment drive.

Tehsildars were directed to closely monitor progress within their respective jurisdictions and ensure timely completion of the farmer data enrolment process.

Emphasising the importance of reliable and accurate data, the DC stressed that the exercise must be carried out with due diligence so that the resulting database remains dependable for future planning and welfare delivery. He also called for close coordination between the Revenue and Agriculture Departments and CSC functionaries involved in the process, noting that seamless inter-departmental cooperation would be key to meeting enrolment targets without compromising data quality.

Officials informed the meeting that AgriStack and the Digital Crop Survey are aimed at building a comprehensive, verified database of farmers and their landholdings, which will help streamline the delivery of government schemes, subsidies and credit facilities directly to genuine beneficiaries. The Farmer ID initiative, once complete, is expected to serve as a unique digital identity for farmers, reducing paperwork and enabling faster, more transparent access to agricultural support programmes.

Besides the farmer-centric initiatives, the DC also took stock of various other revenue-related matters, including the status of digitisation of Revenue Records, Online/Offline Migrant Grievance redressal, and other citizen-centric revenue services being delivered across the district. He underlined the importance of ensuring efficient, transparent and citizen-friendly delivery of all revenue services, stating that digitisation efforts should ultimately translate into reduced hassle and faster turnaround for the public.

The DC directed all concerned officers to maintain regular monitoring of progress on these fronts and ensure effective, sustained implementation of all ongoing revenue and farmer-centric initiatives. He asked officers to submit periodic progress reports so that any gaps or delays could be identified and addressed promptly.

The meeting reflects the district administration’s continued push to modernise revenue governance and agricultural data systems, aligning with the broader Government of India push for digital agriculture infrastructure. Officials noted that timely completion of Farmer ID generation and the Digital Crop Survey would not only improve targeting of welfare schemes but also strengthen crop insurance, disaster compensation and credit access mechanisms for farmers across Srinagar district.

The DC reiterated that field-level officers, being the first point of contact for farmers, bear a key responsibility in ensuring the success of these initiatives, and urged them to proactively address any difficulties faced by beneficiaries during the enrolment process.
