DC Shopian reviews progress of key development projects, stresses on uptake of flagship initiatives

SHOPIAN, JANUARY 14:The Deputy Commissioner of Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar, convened a meeting to review the progress of crucial development projects across various sectors in the district, including Mughal Road, tourism, municipal services, Jal Jeevan Mission , RDSS, PM Surya Ghar, and sports development.

The meeting aimed to assess the status of ongoing projects and identify areas requiring attention. During the review, DC Saleem stressed the importance of launching new flagship initiatives to further improve the district’s infrastructure and promote sustainable development. He directed the Roads & Buildings Department to submit Detailed Project Reports for upcoming projects, especially those focused on establishing eco-friendly facilities at Dobjan and Pir Ki Gali for tourists and commuters, as well as municipal services for town residents.

The DC also reviewed the physical and financial progress of various ongoing initiatives, including municipal council projects, sports development works, JJM water supply projects, RDSS infrastructure developments in the power sector, and the installation of PM Surya Ghar systems.

Highlighting the potential for growth in the sports sector, Shahid Saleem emphasized the need to engage the district’s youth through sports. He directed the Youth Services & Sports Department to organise competitions and events to foster youth participation.

The DC underlined the importance of efficient planning and execution to ensure the success of these initiatives, ensuring they effectively meet the district’s needs.
