Rajouri , January 2,2026-Deputy Commissioner Rajouri on Tuesday inaugurated the Community Radio Station ‘Radio Sangam’ at Keri village, marking a significant step towards strengthening grassroots communication and community participation in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the vital role of community radio in empowering local communities, enhancing information dissemination, and promoting inclusive development, particularly in rural and remote areas. He emphasised that platforms like Radio Sangam serve as effective tools for spreading awareness about government schemes, education, health, culture, and livelihood opportunities.
The DC noted that community radio bridges communication gaps by giving voice to local issues, traditions, and aspirations, thereby fostering social cohesion and participatory governance. He expressed hope that Radio Sangam would emerge as a trusted medium for the people of Rajouri, encouraging community engagement and positive social change.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by district officials, local representatives, media professionals, and residents, who welcomed the initiative as a valuable addition to the region’s communication infrastructure.
