POONCH, JANUARY 12: In a proactive move to ensure improved water supply to local residents, Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal, visited the Water Supply Schemes in Kankote and Kojra Bandichechian to personally assess their progress and ongoing implementation.
During his visit to the WSS in Kankote, DC Kundal reviewed the current status of water distribution and stressed the urgent need for providing uninterrupted and reliable water supply to every household in the area. He emphasised that addressing the water needs of the community is not just a priority but a necessity for improving the overall living conditions of the residents. He directed the Executive Engineer of the Jal Shakti Department to expedite the process, ensuring that the scheme is fully operational without delays. Kundal underlined that timely and efficient delivery of water services would be crucial in meeting the aspirations of the people.
At the WSS in Kojra Bandichechian, which is being developed under the ambitious Jal Jeevan Mission , the Deputy Commissioner took note of the significant progress made, including the successful drilling of a borewell. Expressing satisfaction with the initial work, he instructed the Executive Engineer to speed up the installation of pumping machinery, with a clear deadline of 15 days. He emphasised that the completion of the water supply system would significantly improve water access in the area, ensuring that clean and potable water reaches every household.
In line with the objectives of JJM, which aims to provide Functional Household Tap Connections to all rural households, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for timely installation of these tap connections. He urged the concerned officials to work with dedication to ensure that no household is left without access to clean drinking water, marking a key milestone in enhancing the living standards of the residents.
DC Kundal’s visit reflects his continued commitment to improving essential services in Poonch, ensuring that development initiatives like water supply schemes are implemented efficiently and effectively, benefiting all sections of the society.
