Srinagar, December 24,2025-Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, today conducted an on-site review of the under-construction wooden pedestrian bridge at Amira Kadal, Srinagar, to assess the progress, quality, and safety measures of the ongoing project.
During the inspection, the DC emphasised the importance of adhering to heritage-sensitive design standards, ensuring that the bridge complements the city’s historical character while providing modern functionality. He also stressed strict compliance with safety protocols and timely completion of the project.
The new pedestrian bridge is expected to significantly enhance pedestrian connectivity and walkability in Srinagar, offering residents and tourists a safer and more accessible route across the historic Amira Kadal area. Officials highlighted that the project is part of broader efforts to improve urban infrastructure while preserving Srinagar’s cultural and heritage landscape.
Anshul Garg directed the concerned departments to maintain the pace of construction without compromising quality and to ensure that all technical and safety standards are strictly followed. He noted that the completion of the bridge will serve as a landmark in improving the city’s infrastructure and promoting pedestrian-friendly urban spaces.
