Ganderbal, September 11,2025: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, today chaired a meeting of officers to review and finalize arrangements for the upcoming Seva Parv celebration, scheduled to be held across the district from September 17 to October 2, 2025.
The fortnight-long nationwide initiative aims to strengthen citizen-centric governance by improving service delivery, raising awareness about welfare schemes, and ensuring seamless access to essential services for the public.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on activities to be conducted during the campaign. These include Swachhta drives, health camps, plantation drives, beautification of schools, digital literacy programmes, and awareness campaigns on flagship government schemes.
The DC directed all departments to prepare a comprehensive calendar of activities within two days to ensure smooth implementation at the grassroots level. He instructed the ACD and Municipal Council Ganderbal to launch intensive cleanliness and waste segregation drives in all Panchayats and municipal wards, along with plantation drives around Amrit Sarovars.
For plantation activities, the DFO Sindh Forest Division was tasked with ensuring adequate availability of saplings. Educational institutions, including the Central University of Kashmir, were directed to take up school beautification, wall paintings, and donations of textbooks and stationery for underprivileged students.
The Programme Officer ICDS was asked to focus on nutrition-related activities and APAAR ID generation in Anganwadi centres. The Chief Medical Officer was instructed to organize health check-up camps, blood donation drives, and screening for anemia, TB, cancer, and water-borne diseases, with participation of private health institutions to strengthen outreach.
The DC also stressed the need for extensive awareness campaigns on flagship schemes and social initiatives, including Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, disaster management preparedness, and government welfare schemes like PMJJBY, APY, PMJDY, and PMSBY. He further called for digital literacy and capacity-building camps to educate citizens about various social security programmes.
Underscoring the importance of inter-departmental coordination, DC Ganderbal urged all officers to work in close synergy to make Seva Parv impactful and ensure benefits reach every section of society.
