Srinagar, November 13 ,2025: The 3-Day International Film Festival of Srinagar continued to captivate audiences at Tagore Hall, celebrating the art of storytelling through cinema. Day 2 of the festival featured screenings of national and international films, engaging discussions, and the felicitation of local artists who have contributed to the growth of Jammu and Kashmir’s creative industry.
Film enthusiasts, students, and professionals gathered to witness diverse cinematic voices from across the globe. The day began with the screening of independent short films and documentaries, showcasing themes of culture, identity, and resilience. Several international entries were also screened, highlighting global perspectives on human experience and social change.
A panel discussion on “Cinema as a Catalyst for Cultural Dialogue” brought together filmmakers, critics, and academicians who emphasised Kashmir’s growing prominence as a film-friendly destination. Speakers discussed the region’s cinematic evolution, new policy initiatives, and the potential of local talent to contribute to India’s expanding film landscape.
The highlight of the day was a felicitation ceremony honouring local artists and filmmakers, recognising their creativity, perseverance, and role in reviving the Valley’s cultural vibrancy.
Organised in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Film Development Council (JKFDC) and the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), TIFFS aims to position Srinagar as a global hub for film and art while encouraging young filmmakers from the region.
The festival will conclude tomorrow with special screenings and an awards ceremony celebrating the best cinematic works showcased at the event.
