A career awareness lecture on opportunities in the Indian Armed Forces was organised at Government Degree College (GDC), Banihal, under the PM Activity initiative. The programme aimed to familiarise students with career opportunities in the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force and motivate young people to consider serving the nation. During the session, students were informed about various entry schemes, eligibility criteria, selection procedures and career prospects in the Armed Forces. The lecture also highlighted the importance of discipline, leadership, patriotism and dedication in military service. Students expressed their appreciation for the Indian Army and acknowledged the valuable learning experience provided through the programme. They said that such initiatives help young people understand the opportunities available to them, including the Agniveer scheme, and inspire them to build a future in the defence services. The students also expressed pride in the Indian Army for protecting the country’s borders around the clock and safeguarding national security. They extended their gratitude to the armed forces for their dedication, courage and sacrifices. The initiative served as an important platform for career guidance, encouraging students to explore defence-related opportunities and develop a spirit of patriotism and responsibility.
