When the government announced free ration under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package, we started getting rice and grains, said Bashir, Beneficiary PMGKAY in Budgam village of Jammu & Kashmir. He said the poor people in Budgam breathed a sigh of relief during Covid-19 too. They have been getting ration since then. Md. Sharif, a local resident of Budgam says, we got free ration in advance for 4-5 months after the announcement by the government. Javed, another beneficiary of PMGKAY says, we got free ration for nine months and also during Corona. We kept getting rice, flour, and khand among others. The distributing official said around 500-550 ration card holders were supplied ration. Shamshuddin said, the ration we got was allotted by the government. The government is trying to remove corruption, says Md Sharif. Our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is making efforts and we salute such a Prime Minister who wants to do away with corruption.
