Budgam, March 5,2026- Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan, chaired a meeting of the District Level Implementation Committee under the Mission YUVA to review and approve youth entrepreneurship proposals aimed at boosting self-employment across the district.
During the meeting, the committee approved 382 entrepreneurship cases submitted by young aspirants from various parts of Budgam. The approved ventures span multiple sectors including handicrafts, dairy farming, repair services, retail businesses, and food units, reflecting the district administration’s focus on diversifying livelihood opportunities for the youth.
DC Athar Aamir Khan emphasised the importance of time-bound sanction of financial assistance, ensuring that approved applicants receive support without unnecessary delays. He directed concerned departments and banking institutions to expedite the processing of cases so that entrepreneurs can begin their ventures at the earliest.
The Deputy Commissioner also stressed the need for proper mentoring and capacity building for young entrepreneurs. He noted that providing technical guidance, training, and market linkages is essential to ensure that these ventures remain sustainable and profitable in the long run.
Officials informed the meeting that the Mission YUVA initiative aims to empower youth through entrepreneurship, skill development, and financial support, thereby generating employment and strengthening the local economy.
DC Khan reiterated the administration’s commitment to encouraging innovation, supporting start-ups, and creating an enabling ecosystem for youth-led enterprises in Budgam.
