BSF Wular Ultra Run Promotes Fitness, Tourism and Civilian-BSF Bond

The third edition of the BSF Wular Ultra Run, themed “Run With Bordermen,” was organised at Wular Lake in Bandipora, bringing together BSF personnel, civilian runners, volunteers and fitness enthusiasts from Jammu and Kashmir and different parts of the country. The 50-km ultra run was flagged off by DIG BSF Sandeep Rawat from the Helipad at BSF Headquarters, Bandipora, at 5 AM on Sunday. The event was organised in collaboration with the BSF and aims to promote fitness, adventure tourism and awareness about the breathtaking yet remote locations of Jammu and Kashmir. Participants praised the excellent arrangements and facilities provided during the event. They highlighted how running alongside BSF personnel offers civilians an opportunity to experience the courage, dedication and spirit of the armed forces from close quarters. The event also showcases the natural beauty of Wular Lake and encourages people to explore lesser-known destinations in the region. Participants emphasised that such events create a unique experience for runners while strengthening the bond between civilians and the security forces. The marathon also carries an important message for women, encouraging them to participate actively in fitness and sporting activities. With its focus on health, tourism, adventure and community participation, the BSF Wular Ultra Run is becoming a meaningful platform for promoting fitness and camaraderie.
