Jammu, March 13, 2025 – The Border Security Force jawans stationed at the International Border in the RS Pura sector of Jammu division, Jammu and Kashmir, celebrated Holi with vibrant enthusiasm on Thursday. Despite being miles away from their families, the personnel marked the festival of colors with traditional fervor, showcasing their unwavering spirit and camaraderie.
The celebrations included singing, dancing, and applying colors to one another, turning the border outpost into a scene of joy and unity. Special arrangements were made by the BSF headquarters, providing colors, sweets, and festive meals to ensure the jawans could partake in the celebrations. Harmanpreet Kaul, a female BSF jawan, extended warm Holi greetings to the nation on behalf of the force. Speaking to ANI, she said, “On behalf of the BSF, I wish everyone a Happy Holi.” Another jawan, Prem Kumar, expressed his delight, stating, “It is a good feeling to celebrate here. Happy Holi to everyone.”
The RS Pura sector, located along the sensitive India-Pakistan border, is a critical area where BSF personnel remain vigilant year-round. Yet, the festival provided a moment of respite and connection to their cultural roots. The celebrations reflect a long-standing tradition among India’s border forces, who often blend duty with festivity to maintain morale.
Similar scenes unfolded at other border locations, with reports of BSF jawans celebrating Holi with equal zeal in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, along the India-Pakistan border. These events underscore the force’s commitment to safeguarding the nation while preserving the spirit of unity and tradition.
As the jawans danced to folk tunes and shared laughter amidst the barbed wire and watchtowers, their celebration served as a poignant reminder of their sacrifice and resilience. The BSF continues to stand as a pillar of strength at India’s frontiers, even as they embrace moments of joy like Holi.
