Block Diwas: DC Kulgam presides over grievance redressal camp in remote Waltangoo Kund

KULGAM, DECEMBER 11: As part of the ongoing effort to bring governance closer to the people, the District Administration of Kulgam organized a series of public outreach programs under the weekly Block Diwas initiative, covering three blocks of the district: Waltangoo Kund, Kulgam, and D.K. Marg. The initiative aims to address public grievances and facilitate prompt resolution of issues at the grassroots level.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan, took personal charge of the grievance redressal camp held in the far-flung area of Waltangoo Kund. The event saw active participation from residents of Waltangoo, Kanchloo, Nigeenpora, Razloo, Waripora, and surrounding areas, who raised a variety of developmental and welfare concerns.

The DC gave a patient hearing to all the issues raised by the locals, ranging from infrastructure needs to welfare schemes. He immediately issued on-the-spot directions to concerned departments for the resolution of several issues, ensuring that the grievances would be addressed in a timely manner.

In addition to the grievance redressal session, officers and department heads were present to directly respond to the queries and concerns raised by the people, offering solutions or committing to follow-up actions within specific timelines.

Later, DC Khan visited Ziyarat Shareef Hazrat Syed Noor Shah Wali Bagdadi RA at Kund, paying homage as part of the community engagement.

Simultaneously, similar outreach programs were held in the Kulgam and D.K. Marg blocks, where district officials took note of the grievances raised by residents, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to prompt and effective redressal.

Through initiatives like these, the Kulgam district administration aims to strengthen communication with the public, ensuring that citizens’ voices are heard and their concerns are addressed swiftly, fostering an environment of transparency and responsive governance.
