Jammu December 8,2025: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu has launched a first-of-its-kind Basohli Painting Workshop, celebrating the rich 300-year-old Basohli art tradition. The workshop was inaugurated by IIM Jammu Director Prof. B.S. Sahay at the Jagti Campus, with senior officials from IIM Jammu and Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) in attendance.
Organised under Anandam: The Centre for Happiness, the week-long workshop brings sts and master practitioners of Basohli art to mentor students. Participants will gain hands-on experience in natural pigment preparation, miniature painting techniques, and sacred iconography, preserving and promoting this historic art form.
Officials highlighted that the initiative not only aims to promote cultural heritage but also empowers traditional artists, creating opportunities for skill development and cross-generational learning.
