J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the celebration of 37th Foundation Day of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB). On the occasion, the LG laid the foundation stone of various projects of Shrine Board and Gurukul. For 1,450 workers posted at high altitudes, hardship allowance has been given approval. Accomodation facilities for workers near Katra in Ardha Kumari has been approved. The Lt Governor also rolled out new RFID system for the convenience of the passengers. In the 15th episode of his programme “Awaam Ki Awaaz”, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha applauded the centuries-old Kashmiri traditional handicraft work being kept alive by Bandipora’s 90-year-old man, Abdul Samad Ganie. Abdul, despite his advancing age, painstakingly weaves paddy straw to make handcrafted chappals called ‘pulhoor’.
