BARAMULLA, OCTOBER 21: Secretary Health and Medical Education (H&ME), Bhupinder Kumar inaugurated one day awareness programme on ‘Benefits of Golden Card’ at tehsil complex, Boniyar.
The objective of organizing the camp was to raise awareness among the participants regarding the benefits of Golden Card, an e-card that needs to be shown at the empanelled hospitals to avail cashless treatment under AB PMJAY.
Secretary, while elaborately explaining the broad contours of the scheme, exhorted upon the people to optimally utilize this golden card which enables you get cashless treatment and hospitalization in empanelled public and private hospitals.
He asked the officers to ensure cent percent saturation of Golden Cards under AB-PMJAY so that no eligible beneficiary is deprived of this vital facility being extended by the government.
Secretary exhorted upon the general public to avail the benefits of Golden Cards and other health related schemes. He asserted that the administration is committed to provide every basic health facility to the people at their door steps.
He highlighted the need for making people aware about this facility and urged students to act as ambassadors in this endeavour.
Bhupinder Kumar directed all the officers and other concerned to work with added zeal and dedication to achieve the set targets under different schemes of the health department.
Deputy Commissioner said that the purpose of the camp was to speed up registration process under the said scheme besides mobilizing the left out population of the district so that they are entitled to the benefits of the Golden Card.
The citizens need to go to the address Setu.pmjay.gov.in and register themselves with details of ration card issued by Food and Supply Department, Aadhar Card and download their Golden cards.The whole family can be covered under this scheme. It provides access to health insurance to the poorer section of society. Beneficiaries can avail the benefit of this scheme across the country for free. Covers 1354 medical and surgical packages, and 25 specialty categories.
It is valid countrywide and is accepted at nearly 24,000 hospitals, covering more than 1400 treatments throughout India. It offers cashless hospitalisation at covered hospitals. To avail of this facility, the person needs to show the ayushman golden card at the network hospital.
