SRINAGAR, JULY 29: The Asmita Khelo India Yogasana City League 2025–26 concluded on a high note at the Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex, Srinagar, with more than 250 young female athletes from across Kashmir Division participating in the vibrant and competitive sporting event.
Organised by the Jammu & Kashmir Yogasana Sports Association under the banner of Yogasana Bharat and recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, the league is part of a larger initiative to promote Yogasana as a competitive sport while preserving its ancient Indian roots.
Throughout the day, athletes competed in various age-group categories, demonstrating exceptional balance, flexibility, strength, and mental focus. The audience witnessed graceful yet powerful performances that reflected years of discipline and dedication, proving that Yogasana is much more than a spiritual practice—it is a modern, competitive sport that builds resilience and confidence.
Speaking at the event, officials from the J&K Sports Council, veteran coaches, and dignitaries from educational institutions lauded the efforts of the young athletes and emphasized the importance of physical and mental wellness in today’s fast-paced world.
“This event is not just about competition. It’s about empowering our girls, encouraging discipline, and reconnecting with our cultural heritage,” said one of the senior organisers.
The league also served as a qualifying round for the upcoming state-level Yogasana competitions, paving the way for many young aspirants to represent Jammu & Kashmir at the national level.
The event concluded with prize distribution and heartfelt appreciation for all the coaches, parents, volunteers, and officials who contributed to the successful organisation of the championship.
