Anantnag’s local Muslim women joined Hindu wedding, sang Kashmiri songs and helped in chores

My elder brother who is a kashmiri Pandit got his two daughters married. Pran Nath Bhat’s two daughters Sakshi and Sheetu got married at Sirhama in district Anantnag. Muslim women from the neighbourhood joined the celebration and sang ‘wanwun’. They beat Tumbakhnari and sang traditional Kashmiri songs. Local Muslims not only celebrated the wedding but also helped with other chores. A celebration of #Kashmiriat in today’s #Kashmir. They got so much help from Muslims. We are not migrants. Whatever we wanted was delivered in our homes, tents and other items for marriage. The support we got from Muslims we do not think we will get anywhere else. Women and the community participated and supported in every way which has made us happy. The atmosphere in this village Anantnag is good and the people are also good.
