Anantnag’s anonymous Freedom Fighter Sarwanand Koul Premi

Sarwanand Koul Premi has devoted his whole existence to mankind. Existence is one, not only did he believe, but he also lived it, said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha at a function. And also did the work of broadcasting the same perfection to the masses. If Jammu and Kashmir is called as the ‘heaven on earth’ it is so not only because the mountains and rivers here are beautiful but it also includes the energy of the people who are dedicated to social service, LG said. As a freedom fighter, Sarwanand Koul Premi participating from Anantnag, Jammu & Kashmir in Quit India Movement followed the path shown by Pujya Bapu ji. And in the freedom movement of the motherland getting arrested about half a dozen times and still sticking to duty. And in spite of that, the feeling of service, patriotism and sacrifice within them became stronger. The Lieutenant Governor said that he had read in a magazine that famous poet Mahjoor had given him the nickname of Premi. The name was carefully given, LG remarked. Those who experience the world with their heart according to me, LG said, are Premi. In our culture, poets and saints are the same. As saints live from the heart in the same way, Sarwanand ji lived his whole life from the heart. By presenting the feelings of the heart in compositions he has done incomparable service to humanity, LG remarked.
