Kashmir, January 7,2026-Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to chair a high-level security review meeting on Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow to assess the prevailing law and order situation and review ongoing security arrangements in the Union Territory, official sources said.
The meeting is expected to be attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, top leadership of Jammu and Kashmir Police, and heads of central armed police forces, along with representatives from intelligence and security agencies. Senior officers of the Union Territory administration are also likely to participate.
Sources said the discussions will focus on the overall security scenario, counter-terrorism operations, border management, and measures to ensure peace and stability in the region. The Home Minister is also expected to review preparedness for upcoming events and assess coordination among various security agencies.
The review comes amid continued efforts by security forces to maintain vigilance and prevent any attempts to disrupt normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir. Emphasis is likely to be laid on strengthening intelligence networks, enhancing area domination, and ensuring the safety of civilians.
Officials said such periodic high-level meetings play a crucial role in fine-tuning security strategies and reinforcing the Centre’s commitment to sustained peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir.
