Gurez,May 26,2026- Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar had donated ₹1 crore in 2021 for the upgradation of a remote school in Jammu and Kashmir’s Gurez Valley after visiting the border region with Border Security Force jawans.
Following the donation, a new school block named after the actor’s father was developed with improved infrastructure, including modern classrooms, a library, a computer laboratory, and better facilities for students studying in the remote border area.
The initiative significantly improved educational resources for children in the region and was widely appreciated by locals and officials. Residents said the contribution brought renewed attention to the educational needs of students living in far-flung areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
Akshay Kumar’s visit to Gurez in 2021 and his support for the school continue to be remembered as a meaningful gesture towards education and community development in the Valley’s border districts.
