A Modest ₹1000 Is Empowering Tral Women with Skills, Respect & a Brighter Future in Carpet Weaving This carpet centre in Tral has been running for two years. We give training to those eager to learn carpet weaving. Here all the girls have learnt the art and are now ready for working at home. These girls are educated too, said a woman trainer. I am studing and also learning this handicraft which has benefitted me a lot, said a girl student. We have got a male and female head trainer who taught us the craft well. Here, we help each other, said another young female. This is a good work for women. All the ladies should join the centre. It is an honourable job, said another female. We got respect, outside as well as at home and in society, females leaning at the centre said.We used to go to college and work here also, we used to get one thousand rupees but it was respectable money. The government has given so many schemes, do not spoil your present and future by sitting idle at home, the girls said. The woman trainer said she too had joined as a learner at a handicrafts centre then she got a job. These girls too will get it and they should keep learning the craft.
