UT Foundation Day 2023: Self Defence Training Workshop in Kupwara, DC Kupwara Addresses Women Trainees

KUPWARA, OCTOBER 26: In the run up to UT Foundation Day, 2023 which is being celebrated on October 31, the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan on Thursday addressed an impactful Session of Self Defense Training of Women employees in the serene lawns of DC Office Complex Kupwara to motivate the Women about the Self Defense and physical fitness.
The event saw enthusiastic participation Women employees including of AWWs, Helpers and ASHAs from different areas of Kupwara.
Women trainees were seen eagerly learning various self defense skills from highly trained Close Combat Instructors under the guidance of LT. Col. Sanjay Pawar.
Training session was organised by the Ministry of Skill Development in collaboration with the District Administration Kupwara.
The event served as a platform to raise awareness about the benefits of self defense skills and physical fitness.
While addressing the participants, the Deputy Commissioner said that Women’s self-defense ultimately gives women freedom as they are able to defend themselves against both mental, emotional and physical challenges.
Ayushi Sudan encouraged Women Participants to adopt self defense and physical fitness as an integral part of daily routines.
DC later flagged off a Mega Rally under the aegis of celebration of Ekta Divas in which hundreds of AWWs, helpers and ASHAs participated.
Rally was flagged off from DC Office Complex Kupwara and culminated at fountain Chowk Kupwara.
Event was attended by ADC Kupwara, Gh.Nabi Bhat, District Information Officer Kupwara, Iftikhar Naseem, CDPO Kupwara, Abdul Qayoom Wani and other officials.
Similar rallies were held in various other parts of Kupwara including the border area of Tangdhar (Karnah) where women marched through Tangdhar market and Teetwal town close to LOC chanting patriotic slogans.
