Kashmir Ahead

LG Manoj Sinha Greets People on 8th UT Foundation Day, Highlights Unity and Development

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha extended greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of the 8th UT Foundation Day, paying tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary and highlighting the importance of national unity and inclusive development. In his address, the LG acknowledged the contributions of farmers, teachers, scholars, writers, artists, artisans, security personnel, traders, workers, youth and women in shaping a self-reliant Jammu and Kashmir. Referring to the abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A in 2019, he described the decision as an important step towards national integration, equality and inclusive development. He said Jammu and Kashmir must build its future on peace, equal opportunities and progress rather than violence and discrimination. The Lieutenant Governor also highlighted changing social conditions, noting that young people are increasingly participating in cultural and recreational activities. He assured that efforts would continue, with support from the Government of India, to expand employment opportunities for the youth. Calling upon citizens to reject hatred and respect all religions, LG Sinha said diversity remains Jammu and Kashmir’s greatest strength. He urged people, especially the youth, to contribute to national unity and the vision of Viksit Bharat.
