Srinagar, July 27,2026- The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) District Office Srinagar/Centre for Women Entrepreneurship–Kashmir (CWE-K) organised an interactive session for women entrepreneurs in Srinagar, aimed at fostering innovation, strengthening entrepreneurial skills, and encouraging women-led startups across the Union Territory.
The session was presided over by Shradha Sharma, CEO and Founder of YourStory and the Bharat Project, who interacted with aspiring and established women entrepreneurs, sharing valuable insights on entrepreneurship, innovation, digital transformation, and building sustainable businesses.
Addressing the participants, Shradha Sharma highlighted the importance of innovation, resilience, and storytelling in shaping successful entrepreneurial journeys. She encouraged women entrepreneurs to leverage technology, identify local opportunities, and build enterprises capable of creating both social and economic impact. Drawing from her experience of supporting India’s startup ecosystem through YourStory, she inspired participants to think beyond conventional business models and confidently pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions.
The interactive session provided a platform for women entrepreneurs to discuss challenges, exchange ideas, and explore opportunities for business growth, market access, branding, and digital outreach. Participants also shared their entrepreneurial experiences and sought guidance on scaling their ventures, accessing investment, and expanding into new markets.
Officials from JKEDI emphasised the institute’s commitment to promoting women-led entrepreneurship through skill development programmes, mentoring, incubation support, financial awareness, and startup facilitation. They reiterated that empowering women entrepreneurs is central to building a vibrant and inclusive startup ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir.
The programme also highlighted the growing role of women in sectors such as handicrafts, food processing, agriculture, tourism, technology, and creative industries. Participants were encouraged to utilise government schemes, digital platforms, and innovation-driven business strategies to strengthen their enterprises and generate employment.
The session concluded with an engaging question-and-answer interaction, where participants received practical guidance on business planning, leadership, branding, fundraising, and navigating the evolving startup landscape. The event reinforced JKEDI’s continued efforts to nurture innovation, support women entrepreneurs, and contribute to the economic development of Jammu & Kashmir.
