Fresh batch of 9,153 pilgrims leaves for Amarnath Shrine

Jammu, July 12,2026- A fresh batch of 9,153 pilgrims, including 2,345 women, departed from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu early Sunday to undertake the sacred Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 in the south Kashmir Himalayas.

According to officials, the pilgrims left in a well-coordinated convoy under comprehensive security arrangements for the twin routes leading to the holy cave shrine of Baba Barfani. The yatris are travelling via the Pahalgam route in Anantnag district and the Baltal route in Ganderbal district, where extensive facilities have been put in place to ensure a safe and comfortable pilgrimage.

The administration has made elaborate arrangements, including multi-layer security, medical assistance, emergency response teams, sanitation facilities, RFID tracking, accommodation, transportation, and traffic management to facilitate the smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage.

Devotees from different parts of the country expressed enthusiasm and gratitude as they embarked on the spiritual journey, chanting religious slogans and seeking the blessings of Lord Shiva. The annual pilgrimage continues to witness a steady influx of devotees, reflecting the enduring faith and significance of one of India’s most revered Hindu pilgrimages.

Authorities have advised pilgrims to follow official guidelines, remain updated on weather conditions, and cooperate with security and rescue personnel throughout the yatra.
