Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 day 8: 8,796 pilgrims depart from Banihal

Banihal, July 10,2026- The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 continued on a peaceful note as it entered its eighth day, with 8,796 pilgrims departing from Banihal district towards the twin base camps of Pahalgam and Baltal amid comprehensive security arrangements.

The convoy of pilgrims, escorted by security personnel, moved under a multi-layered security grid to ensure the safe and smooth passage of devotees undertaking the annual pilgrimage to the Holy Cave Shrine of Lord Shiva. Authorities have intensified surveillance and traffic management along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, while security forces remain deployed at key locations to facilitate the Yatra.

Officials said elaborate arrangements have been made for the pilgrims, including medical assistance, sanitation facilities, food, accommodation, emergency response teams, and traffic regulation. The coordinated efforts of the administration, police, security agencies, and volunteers continue to ensure a seamless pilgrimage experience.

Pilgrims expressed satisfaction with the arrangements, appreciating the efficient management and the sense of security throughout the journey. The annual pilgrimage has been progressing smoothly, with thousands of devotees from across the country arriving daily to seek the blessings of Baba Barfani.

The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra remains one of India’s most significant spiritual pilgrimages, drawing devotees from diverse regions while showcasing the coordinated efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir administration in ensuring a safe and successful Yatra.
