Srinagar, July 5, 2026-The annual Amarnath Yatra has recorded an exceptional turnout this year, with more than 56,000 pilgrims visiting the holy cave shrine during the first three days of the pilgrimage.
Officials said the yatra has witnessed one of its strongest starts in recent years, with thousands of devotees arriving daily through both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes. The large participation reflects the growing enthusiasm among pilgrims from across the country.
The pilgrimage is being conducted under tight security, with thousands of personnel deployed along the routes. Medical camps, emergency response teams, and other essential facilities have also been set up to ensure the safety and comfort of devotees.
Authorities have appealed to pilgrims to follow official guidelines, travel only on their allotted dates, and cooperate with security personnel to help maintain smooth movement along the pilgrimage routes.
The annual pilgrimage began on July 3 and will continue until August 28, subject to weather conditions and administrative advisories.
