Shopian, June 24,2026- In a major push towards youth empowerment and employment generation, the District Employment and Counselling Centre (DE&CC) Shopian organized a Job Fair that witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 500 young job seekers from across the district.
The event brought together 20 reputed companies and employers, offering a wide range of employment opportunities across various sectors. The job fair served as an important platform for connecting aspiring youth with potential employers, facilitating direct interaction, interviews, and recruitment prospects.
Officials said the initiative was aimed at enhancing employability, promoting skill development, and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for the youth of Shopian. Participants received guidance on career prospects, industry requirements, and emerging employment trends, helping them make informed career choices.
A key highlight of the event was the support extended under Mission YUVA, a flagship initiative focused on fostering entrepreneurship and self-reliance among young people. During the programme, beneficiaries received keys of commercial vehicles and entrepreneurship sanction letters, enabling them to establish and expand their own ventures.
The distribution of commercial vehicles and sanction letters marked a significant step towards encouraging self-employment and strengthening the local economy. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support, stating that the assistance would help them generate income, create jobs, and achieve financial independence.
