Kashmir, May 20,2026-A new chapter in school education is unfolding in the border region as Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Chack Kanna, Hiranagar is being transformed into a modern learning hub under the National Education Policy (NEP) and K-12 scheme.
The ₹4 crore project aims to upgrade the school with smart classrooms, computer labs, digital learning facilities, modern sanitation infrastructure, and improved amenities. The initiative is designed to strengthen government schools in rural and border areas by providing quality education from Class 1st to 12th under one roof.
Officials stated that the transformation will bridge the gap between urban and rural education systems and ensure students in remote areas have access to modern, technology-driven learning environments. The upgraded infrastructure is expected to significantly enhance teaching standards and student outcomes.
The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure across Jammu and Kashmir, especially in border villages, ensuring inclusive and equitable access to quality education.
