Jammu, April 28,2026- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday attended the National Summit on Sustainable & Climate Resilient Agroecosystems: Innovations and Policy Framework at SKUAST-Jammu, where he stressed the urgent need to strengthen the agriculture and allied sectors against the growing impacts of climate change.
Addressing a gathering of policymakers, scientists, and agricultural experts, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted a range of policy measures aimed at mitigating climate risks and ensuring long-term sustainability in farming. He underscored the importance of adopting innovative technologies, promoting climate-resilient crop varieties, and enhancing water management practices to safeguard farmers’ livelihoods.
Manoj Sinha emphasized that climate change poses significant challenges to agricultural productivity, food security, and rural economies, particularly in regions like Jammu and Kashmir. He called for a coordinated approach involving government institutions, research bodies, and farmers to build a robust and adaptive agroecosystem.
The Lieutenant Governor also highlighted the role of research institutions like SKUAST-Jammu in developing innovative solutions and disseminating knowledge to farmers at the grassroots level.
