Srinagar, April 24,2026- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday emphasized that education must go beyond marks and rote learning, urging institutions to prepare students for the challenges of a rapidly evolving world.
Addressing an academic gathering, the LG highlighted the need for a holistic education system that nurtures creativity, critical thinking, and life skills. He stated that classrooms must adapt to changing global trends, integrating technology, innovation, and skill-based learning into the curriculum.
“Marks alone cannot define a student’s potential. Education should empower young minds with knowledge, values, and the ability to solve real-world problems,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor stressed that the current education framework must evolve to meet the demands of the 21st century, where adaptability and continuous learning are key. He called upon educators to shift focus from traditional teaching methods to interactive and experiential learning approaches.
Highlighting the role of teachers, Manoj Sinha said that educators are instrumental in shaping the future of society and must encourage innovation and curiosity among students. He also underlined the importance of aligning education with industry requirements to enhance employability.
The LG further noted that the administration in Jammu and Kashmir is committed to strengthening the education sector through infrastructure development, digital initiatives, and policy reforms aimed at improving learning outcomes.
Reiterating the government’s vision, he said that education should build character, instill ethical values, and foster a spirit of inquiry among students. He urged all stakeholders, including parents and institutions, to work collectively towards creating an inclusive and progressive education ecosystem.
