Kashmir Ahead

Multi-speciality medical Camp held at district jail Bhaderwah under Nasha Mukti Abhiyan

Doda, April 21,2026- In a continued push against substance abuse, a multi-speciality medical camp was organised at the District Jail in Bhaderwah under the ongoing Nasha Mukti Abhiyan.

The camp aimed to provide comprehensive healthcare services to inmates while also addressing issues related to drug de-addiction and mental well-being. A team of specialist doctors conducted health check-ups, consultations, and basic diagnostic screenings, ensuring that inmates received timely medical attention.

Focus on Health and Rehabilitation

Officials said the initiative is part of a broader strategy to combine healthcare support with de-addiction awareness, especially in correctional facilities where many individuals require structured rehabilitation. Inmates were also counseled on the harmful effects of substance abuse and encouraged to adopt healthier lifestyles.

Part of Wider Anti-Drug Drive

The programme forms a key component of the Nasha Mukti Abhiyan, which is being implemented across Jammu and Kashmir to curb drug abuse through awareness, treatment, and community participation.

Authorities emphasized that such medical camps not only improve access to healthcare but also support the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates into society.

Continued Efforts Across Districts

District administration Doda, along with health and prison authorities, has been actively organising similar initiatives to ensure that the anti-drug campaign reaches every section of society, including those within correctional institutions.
