Yoga sessions launched across J&K under NMBA Drive

Srinagar, April 20,2026- In a significant step towards promoting health and combating drug abuse, Jammu and Kashmir has launched a large-scale wellness initiative with yoga sessions being organized across schools, colleges, and police lines under the 100-day NMBA campaign.

The campaign is part of the nationwide Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, aimed at spreading awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse while encouraging a healthier lifestyle among youth and security personnel.

Officials said the initiative focuses on integrating physical fitness with mental well-being through structured yoga sessions, workshops, and awareness drives. Students and participants are being educated about the dangers of drug addiction and the importance of adopting positive habits.

The program is being actively implemented in educational institutions and police establishments, ensuring participation from a wide cross-section of society. Trainers and experts are conducting guided yoga sessions to help individuals manage stress, improve concentration, and build resilience against substance abuse.

Authorities emphasized that such initiatives are crucial in addressing the growing concern of drug addiction, particularly among the youth. By promoting yoga and fitness, the administration aims to create a strong preventive framework rooted in awareness and community participation.

The campaign has received an encouraging response, with large numbers of students, teachers, and police personnel participating enthusiastically. Officials believe that sustained efforts under the NMBA 100-day initiative will play a key role in building a healthier, drug-free Jammu and Kashmir.
