Srinagar, April 1, 2026- In a significant academic milestone, a PhD scholar from National Institute of Technology Srinagar has become the first from the institution—and among the first from Jammu and Kashmir—to be selected as an IndiaAI Fellow, marking the Union Territory’s entry into the prestigious national programme.
The recognition under the IndiaAI Mission highlights the growing footprint of Jammu and Kashmir in cutting-edge fields like artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. The fellowship aims to support advanced research, innovation, and capacity building in AI across India.
Officials at NIT Srinagar hailed the achievement as a proud moment for the institution and the region, stating that it reflects the rising academic standards and research capabilities of students in Jammu and Kashmir.
