Srinagar, March 19, 2026-In a heartwarming gesture ahead of the upcoming festival of Eid al-Fitr, a group of youngsters in Srinagar stepped forward to support underprivileged families by distributing new clothes.
The initiative comes at a time when rising prices have made it difficult for many low-income households to afford festive essentials. The youth-led group collected funds and purchased new garments, which were then distributed among children and families in need across different parts of the city.
Organizers said the aim was to ensure that everyone could celebrate Eid with dignity and joy. “Eid is about sharing happiness. We wanted to make sure that those struggling financially are not left out of the celebrations,” one of the volunteers said.
Residents appreciated the effort, calling it a meaningful example of community spirit and compassion during challenging economic times. The initiative also inspired others to contribute in whatever way they could.
Social activists noted that such grassroots efforts play a crucial role in fostering unity and helping vulnerable sections of society, especially during festivals.
With Eid approaching, the city has begun to witness increased activity in markets, alongside acts of generosity that reflect the true spirit of the festival—caring, sharing, and standing together as a community.
