Kishtwar, March 10,2016- In a significant step towards combating drug abuse and promoting a healthy lifestyle among youth, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organised a motorcycle rally in Kishtwar under the nationwide Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. The rally aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug addiction and encourage the public, especially young people, to stay away from substance abuse.
The awareness rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from CRPF personnel who rode through various parts of Kishtwar town carrying banners and messages promoting a drug-free society. The initiative was designed to sensitise the local population about the growing threat of narcotics and the importance of collective efforts in eradicating the menace.
Speaking exclusively to DD News Jammu, Commandant Bhupesh Yadav highlighted the importance of community engagement in tackling the issue of drug abuse. He said that the CRPF, under its Civic Action Plan, has been actively reaching out to local communities through a range of social initiatives.
“Along with maintaining security, the CRPF is committed to supporting society through awareness drives, medical camps, and sports activities. These initiatives help build strong bonds with the community and guide the youth towards positive and productive paths,” Commandant Yadav said.
He further emphasised that campaigns like the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan are essential in spreading awareness about the dangers of drug addiction and motivating young people to focus on education, sports, and constructive activities.
Local residents appreciated the initiative and said that such awareness rallies play a crucial role in educating the public about the risks associated with drugs. Many participants also expressed hope that consistent efforts by security forces and community organisations would help curb drug abuse in the region.
The motorcycle rally concluded with a renewed pledge by participants to support the national mission of building a drug-free India.
