J&K experiencing spiritual, cultural renaissance: LG Manoj Sinha

Srinagar, March 8,2026- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday said that Jammu and Kashmir is experiencing a spiritual and cultural renaissance, with renewed focus on preserving heritage, promoting traditional values, and reviving historic religious and cultural sites across the Union Territory.

Addressing a gathering at a cultural and spiritual event, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir has always been a land of rich spiritual traditions, diverse cultural heritage, and deep-rooted civilizational values. He said the administration is committed to strengthening this legacy while ensuring that future generations remain connected to their cultural roots.

Sinha noted that in recent years several historic temples, shrines, and cultural institutions have been restored and revived, attracting devotees, scholars, and tourists from across the country. He highlighted that such initiatives are helping to reconnect people with the region’s centuries-old traditions while also boosting tourism and the local economy.

The Lieutenant Governor further stated that Jammu and Kashmir has historically been a confluence of different faiths, philosophies, and cultural expressions, making it a unique region in the country. He stressed that the government is working to preserve this pluralistic spirit and promote harmony among communities.

According to Sinha, cultural festivals, spiritual gatherings, and heritage restoration projects are playing an important role in reviving the region’s identity. These initiatives, he said, not only celebrate local traditions but also create opportunities for youth to engage with their cultural and spiritual heritage.

He also appreciated the efforts of scholars, artists, and community leaders who are contributing to the preservation and promotion of Jammu and Kashmir’s cultural legacy. Their work, he said, is helping strengthen social cohesion and inspire a sense of pride among the people of the region.

Reiterating the administration’s commitment, Sinha said that sustained efforts will continue to promote heritage conservation, cultural awareness, and spiritual tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Lieutenant Governor expressed confidence that the ongoing revival of cultural and spiritual traditions will further enhance the region’s reputation as a center of heritage, faith, and cultural harmony.
