Kashmir, March 7,2026-Seventeen candidates from Jammu and Kashmir have successfully cleared the prestigious UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025, bringing pride to the Union Territory and highlighting the region’s growing presence in India’s top administrative services.
The results were declared by the Union Public Service Commission, one of the country’s most competitive recruitment bodies responsible for selecting officers for elite services such as the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Foreign Service (IFS).
According to the official result list, 17 aspirants from Jammu and Kashmir secured ranks in the Civil Services Examination after clearing all three stages — the preliminary exam, the mains examination, and the personality test (interview). Their success reflects the increasing participation and academic excellence of youth from the region in national-level competitive examinations.
Educationists and civil society members in Jammu and Kashmir have congratulated the successful candidates, describing their achievement as an inspiration for thousands of young aspirants preparing for the examination across the Union Territory. Many coaching institutes and mentors also noted that the number of successful candidates from J&K has steadily increased in recent years due to improved access to coaching, digital learning platforms, and dedicated preparation by students.
The Civil Services Examination conducted annually by the Union Public Service Commission is widely regarded as one of the toughest exams in India. Lakhs of candidates apply every year, but only a few hundred secure final selection after a rigorous evaluation process.
Officials and community leaders have also extended their congratulations, expressing hope that the newly selected officers will contribute to nation-building and serve society with dedication and integrity.
The success of these 17 candidates once again highlights the determination and academic potential of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, encouraging more students from the region to pursue careers in public service.
