Kupwara, March 4,2026- In a major boost to educational infrastructure, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Shrikant Suse inaugurated a fully solar-powered Block Library and Reading Room in Trehgam, aimed at providing modern learning facilities to students in the border district.
The state-of-the-art library, established under the district administration’s initiative, is equipped with seating capacity for 120 students, silent-study cubicles, high-speed WiFi connectivity, desktop computers, and CCTV surveillance to ensure a secure and conducive learning environment.
The facility also offers access to leading online educational platforms, including Testbook, PhysicsWallah, and Gemini Pro, enabling students to prepare effectively for competitive examinations and academic pursuits.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Kupwara said the solar-powered infrastructure reflects the administration’s commitment to sustainable development while promoting digital education in rural and remote areas. He emphasized that the initiative will empower youth by providing equal access to quality study resources and modern technology.
Local residents and students welcomed the move, describing the library as a transformative step towards strengthening educational opportunities in Trehgam and surrounding areas.
