Kashmir Ahead

LG Manoj Sinha calls for stronger domestic manufacturing push amid global flux

LG Manoj Sinha Calls for Stronger Domestic Manufacturing Push Amid Global Flux Today we have gathered for this important discussion at a time when both global politics and global business are becoming extremely unpredictable, said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha addressing FTII’s Atma Nirbhar Bharat evwent held in Jammu. You all saw the developments in the Middle East yesterday, LG spoke. There is a constant state of confusion regarding tariffs. Alliances between the Global North and Global South are changing rapidly every day. And every country, openly or quietly, is considering putting its own interests first. In such an environment, I think the biggest need is to strengthen India’s domestic manufacturing capacity to the extent possible because I believe that when confidence in trade agreements declines, the countries that survive are those that invested heavily in their manufacturing capacity before the crisis. While it is also true that India started writing its chapter afresh from 2014. And the credit for this naturally goes to the respected Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. It is due to his visionary leadership under which the country decided to embark on a new path of self-reliance. Make in India was not a government or election slogan. I believe that it was a revolutionary decision of a self-confident India. I believe that if this nation develops faith in what it can become, only then that nation can decide that it can become anything and everything in the future, LG said. We are not only the fastest growing economy in the world but have also become the fourth largest economy in the world. And in the next two-three years, we will become the third largest economy in the world. It is true that private investment has been very low here. There were circumstances, but due to the historic decision of the Honourable Prime Minister and the industrial scheme of the Government of India, it gained momentum and a change was also seen in the field of MSME, which is essential for industrial development and Swadeshi. The new industrial policy has given Jammu and Kashmir an opportunity to become one of the most preferred investment destinations in the country. And today I can say that Jammu and Kashmir has tried to write a golden script in employment also. The people and the administration here revived the self-confidence of Jammu and Kashmir by realigning industrial and economic policies and worked wholeheartedly to enable Jammu and Kashmir to contribute to a self-reliant India, LG added. Today, I feel it necessary to mention with great responsibility that ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Atma Nirbhar Jammu Kashmir’ are not programmes that can be confined to files. There is a large population across Jammu and Kashmir who want peace and tranquility to prevail because they have now enjoyed the progress. They have tasted how economic progress can lead to a family’s progress and how it benefits family members. Many such street vendors, restaurants, houseboats, and such other people are associated with it. It is true that the circumstances have changed a lot, but if caution is lost even a little, accidents happen. Some people are waiting for this but Mata Vaishno Devi is never going to give them this opportunity, they will be disappointed, LG said.
