‘Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana’ has been dedicated to farmers in the 16 districts of Jammu and Kashmir, said the Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha. It is a good protection scheme for the farmers. In this scheme, more burden falls on the government and minimum burden on the farmers and moreover, they can accrue more profit. He pleaded with the farmer community to get associated with the PM Fasal Bima Yojana as it is going to be very beneficial. The LG said that it is arranged in such a way that there is minimum investment with maximum insurance for the welfare of the farmers. This scheme assures protection from natural calamities. Ways to increase innovation and credit linkages are also being ensured. Farmers’ main crops have been covered under the scheme. We are planning to include horticulture produce farmers too under the protection of PM Fasal Bima Yojana, he said. The positive impact of this yojana is surely going to be felt in the agriculture sector. Broadly, the LG said, we want to create such a situation where every farming family and farmers are able to fulfill their dreams and ambitions.
