Ganderbal, February 16,2026- A large number of devotees thronged the historic Shankaracharya Temple in Srinagar and the revered Kheer Bhawani Temple in Ganderbal district to offer prayers and seek blessings.
Perched atop the scenic Shankaracharya Hill overlooking Srinagar, the ancient temple witnessed a steady stream of pilgrims since early morning. Devotees performed special rituals and offered prayers amid tight security and well-managed arrangements by the district administration.
Meanwhile, the sacred Kheer Bhawani Shrine at Tulmulla in Ganderbal also saw heavy footfall as devotees gathered to pay obeisance at the temple dedicated to Goddess Ragnya Devi. The temple premises resonated with devotional chants, with many families participating in traditional offerings and prayers.
Elaborate Arrangements in Place
Authorities had put in place adequate security, traffic regulation, drinking water facilities, and medical assistance to ensure a smooth and peaceful visit for pilgrims. Volunteers and local residents extended support in managing queues and guiding devotees.
