Poonch, January 21,2026-In a tribute to police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty, Jammu & Kashmir Police organised the ‘Police Martyrs Volleyball’ tournament in Poonch, fostering sportsmanship and community engagement among local youth.
Superintendent of Police (SSP) Poonch, Shafqat Hussain Butt, appreciated the enthusiasm and participation of young players, saying, “I congratulate the youth for their participation in sports. There are many youth from Poonch who have reached the national level in different sports.”
The initiative aims to not only honour the sacrifices of police personnel but also to encourage youth in Poonch to engage in sports, develop discipline, and explore their potential at higher levels of competition. Officials highlighted that such tournaments serve as a platform to nurture talent and strengthen community ties in the district.
