Jammu, 16 January 2026: Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, on Friday attended the valedictory session of the International Painting Workshop organised by Anandam: The Centre of Happiness and the Art Club at IIM Jammu.
Speaking at the event, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the synergy between artists and GenZ entrepreneurs, saying, “Artists and GenZ entrepreneurs will forge India’s future together. Art and business alliance is a unique power, and imagination combined with investment can build a vibrant and developed society.”
Shri Sinha lauded the contribution of artists, describing them as “architects of national pride” who shape identity, unity, and progress. He added, “The combined energy of creative minds and future CEOs can become the new engine of national development. On one hand we have dreamers as artists, and on the other, doers as next-generation leaders. Their united effort will redefine the pace of progress.”
The Lieutenant Governor also emphasised the importance of creative thinking in today’s era of artificial intelligence and machine learning, urging business management professionals to learn from experiences, adopt innovative approaches, and recognize the value of art in interdisciplinary education. He said, “Art enriches institutions, transforms personalities, fosters a sense of belonging, and strengthens responsibility towards society and the nation. Art is the heartbeat of society and the conscience of the nation.”
During the event, Shri Sinha felicitated eminent and emerging painters and commended IIM Jammu for promoting such academic-cultural initiatives.
The event was attended by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu; Dr. Shakti Gupta, former Executive Director AIIMS Jammu; Prof. Shyam Narayan Lal, Chairperson Anandam: The Centre of Happiness; Shri K.K. Gandhi; senior officials; faculty members; and youth.
