Samba, January13,2026 -Border Security Force jawans celebrated the festival of Lohri with great enthusiasm and traditional fervour in the Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The celebrations reflected the rich cultural heritage of Punjab and the spirit of unity and resilience among the personnel deployed along the international border.
A traditional bonfire was lit as jawans gathered to mark the harvest festival, offering peanuts, popcorn, and rewri to the flames while singing folk songs and performing traditional dances. The atmosphere was filled with joy and camaraderie, providing a welcome moment of festivity amid demanding border duties.
Senior BSF officers extended greetings to the jawans and lauded their dedication and commitment to safeguarding the nation’s borders, even while being away from their families during festivals. The celebrations also boosted morale and reinforced the bond of brotherhood among the troops.
Lohri, which signifies the end of winter and the onset of longer days, holds special significance for people in northen India. The BSF’s celebration of the festival in forward areas showcased the force’s efforts to preserve cultural traditions while maintaining high levels of operational readiness.
