ISRO’s heaviest rocket launches US Communication Satellite

Kashmir, December 24,2025-The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Sunday successfully launched its heaviest rocket, LVM3, carrying a US-based communication satellite, marking another significant milestone in India’s growing presence in the global space sector.

The launch took place from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota, with the LVM3 rocket lifting off smoothly and performing as planned. ISRO confirmed that the mission objectives were achieved, and the satellite was precisely injected into its intended orbit.

The LVM3, also known as Gaganyaan’s launch vehicle, is ISRO’s most powerful rocket, capable of carrying heavy payloads to space. The successful launch further demonstrates ISRO’s reliability as a trusted launch service provider for international customers, particularly in the commercial satellite market.

Officials said the mission highlights India’s expanding cooperation with the United States in space technology and satellite services. Over the years, ISRO has launched several foreign satellites, strengthening global partnerships and contributing to the country’s space diplomacy.

The successful mission also reinforces ISRO’s technical capabilities in handling complex launches and heavy-lift missions, boosting confidence ahead of future projects, including human spaceflight and advanced satellite deployments.

With this launch, ISRO continues to cement its position as a key player in the international space arena, offering cost-effective and reliable launch solutions to countries across the world.
