Baramulla, December 17,2025- Young karate champions from Baramulla called on Deputy Commissioner Baramulla after delivering an impressive performance at the 5th UT-level Jammu and Kashmir Karate Championship, where they clinched six gold, six silver and one bronze medal.
The young athletes, accompanied by their coaches including Mingas Herpa, shared their experiences from the championship and highlighted the hard work and discipline that went into their success. The Deputy Commissioner congratulated the players on their remarkable achievement and lauded their dedication, stating that their performance has brought pride to the district.
The DC encouraged the karatekas to continue striving for excellence and assured them of continued administrative support to help nurture sports talent in the district. He emphasised the importance of sports in building character, discipline and physical fitness among youth, adding that the district administration remains committed to promoting sports and providing necessary facilities.
The young players expressed gratitude for the encouragement and support extended by the administration, saying it has motivated them to aim higher in future competitions.
